The Huskies have settled back into a routine of Excellence and Diversity in Learning, Wellness and Community! This Friday Huskies will participate in the final Impact Session for this round, in the afternoon, to finish off a great week.
A reminder that students need to dress for the weather as they will be outside at either recess, noon, or for their Wellness class daily.
Next week is shaping up to be an exciting one at Maplehurst!
La semaine de la fierté française
La semaine provinciale de la fierté française will happen next week, du 20 au 23 mars, 2023. This year’s slogan is « Fleurir l’Acadie, Unir la francophonie ! »
Cette semaine a pour but de promouvoir la langue française et de célébrer, avec notre communauté de Huskies, la fierté d’appartenir à la grande famille de la Francophonie internationale. This week’s purpose is to promote the French language and celebrate our pride in belonging to the international Francophone family. Throughout the week, Huskies will have visits from Acadian artists as well as French and Acadian cultural experiences. Vive la francophonie!
Theatre New Brunswick Young Company will be performing for the Huskies next Tuesday.
The Grade 6 Huskies will enjoy a presentation of “S.T.O.P” and the Grade 7 & 8 Huskies will enjoy a presentation of “Alter”. More information concerning the themes of the plays will be sent out tomorrow.
STEM Expo and Heritage Fair
On Thursday, March 23, we are excited to be hosting a full day Heritage/STEM Expo! Students have been working hard over that past few weeks on amazing projects that showcase their passions and interests during either their Science or Social Studies classes. The Heritage Fair is a competition where students are encouraged to explore their heritage by choosing a subject of interest relating to heritage and conducting research using a variety of sources.
Within each class, the teachers will choose projects that will be on display during our School Heritage/STEM Expo on Thursday, March 23rd where projects will be judged by district officials to help determine which students will head off to the SouthEast Regional Science Fair and the District Heritage Fair.
During the day, Huskies will have the opportunity to experience some hands-on learning opportunities thanks to amazing partnerships with organizations such as: Resurgo Place, Snapology, GAIA Project, APEGNB, NBCC, WiSE and many more! These bilingual learning opportunities will expose our Huskies to careers in STEM and showcase local organizations that promote innovation and creativity in education.
There will not be any school for students on Friday, March 24 as teachers have a Report Card preparation/Professional Learning Day.
