Hi Husky Families,

It is a busy week at Maplehurst!

The 2022-2023 Student Council Election Speeches took place this afternoon and all candidates did a wonderful job presenting themselves to over 500 Huskies, which is quite an accomplishment.  Congratulations to all candidates and we will announce the executive at the end of the week.  Thank you to the audience who were so respectful and appreciative off all candidates.

Tomorrow, the Huskies leaders will be hosting the grade 5 orientation day where the future Huskies from both Evergreen Park and Northrop Frye schools will spend the morning learning about Maplehurst.

Thursday will be a special day for our grade 8 Huskies who will be attending their last dance while students of Maplehurst.  Thank you to the grade 7 parents who will be sending in refreshments and to the parents who are volunteering to decorate for the dance.

Friday, we have two grade levels attending a performance of Matilda at the Capital Theatre in the morning.

On Friday afternoon, the Huskies will enjoy the first annual Husky Legacy Day!  There will be bouncy obstacle courses, outdoor games, cotton candy and freezies for sale as well as a teacher dunk tank.  All proceeds will go towards a donation to our playground on behalf of the Grade 8 Class of 2021-22.  This class has been with us since we opened the doors of Maplehurst and have enjoyed the outdoor spaces over the last three years.

Friday is also the last day for the cafeteria so please plan accordingly for next week.

Thank you for your continued support of the Husky Community.

Miss Nowlan on behalf of the Husky Staff
